Your learning begins before traveling to India with our unique and engaging preparation sessions.
Your Immersion experience has been designed using the latest academic theory, with unique methods created specifically for the practice of understanding others, cross-cultural communication in the village environment, and human-centred design thinking innovation.
Understanding others is a challenge we all face. During your time on Immersion you’ll learn how empathy works. This includes practical skills to apply in the village and even your normal life beyond India.
To assist with your field work you'll learn the foundations of ethnographic observation, along with approaches to sense-making.
However, merely observing the world around us is not enough to truly cross the empathy gaps that exist between us. During the program our team fosters authentic connections between you and your neighbours.
Later in the program you’ll be taken through design thinking methods through our unique innovation workshops. These aim at a construction of cognitive insights, along with initiating creative approaches to community needs.
You’ll be shown storytelling methods, to help facilitate communication of your ideas across language barriers. Along with methods for co-creation so that your work is hand-in-hand with local stakeholders.
The program concludes with a community prototyping day, where you’re guided through the construction of an prototyping experience, to share ideas, illicit meaningful feedback and give back to the community.
